According to opinion polls, British men visit the dentist on average every 5 years.

The results of the next sociological survey partly confirm why the British are considered the owners of not the most healthy and attractive smiles.

Local experts conducted a survey among men and women of different ages and occupations in order to find out how often they resort to the service of dentists. As the authors of this social project themselves declared, the results shocked them. Women in this plan are still not so bad:

76% of respondents said that they visit the dentist at least every 2 years, while 52% of the representatives of the fairer sex are in the dental chair at least once a calendar year. As the main reason to watch their teeth, the ladies indicated the smiles of celebrities and the standards of beauty that are broadcast through the gloss and the media.

Despite the fact that such statistics can not be called good from a medical prophylactic point of view, compared to similar indicators for men, everything here is just perfect. Almost 12% of the stronger sexes did not visit the dentist for more than 10 years, and more than 60% said that they go to see a dentist only in case of severe pain and noticeable consequences caused by diseases of the teeth and gums. At the same time, only 16% of the men surveyed visit the dentist at least once a year.
